Farmhouse Chic 2020
CREATING THE MODERN FARMHOUSE STYLE...
The farmhouse chic design style has become one of the most popular of home decors in the last few years thanks in part to TV shows such as Fixer Upper, Nate and Jeremiah and others. But, what is it really? For those of us who remember the colonial style of decorating, farmhouse isn't that much of a detour.
Today's classic farmhouse style emphasizes feelings of warmth and comfort. It's traditional without being fussy, classic without being museum, and comfortable in a way that makes you want to put your feet up and stay awhile. Classic farmhouse is all about mixing comfortable furniture with salvaged materials like reclaimed wood and industrial metals. Antiques are right at home in classic farmhouse interiors, but none that are too delicate to touch. Everything is tactile and tangible. Most of all, classic farmhouse is clean and cozy without being cluttered. Classic farmhouse is also similar to country style, however, while country tends to lean toward rustic, farmhouse retains a certain level of sophistication.
So, explore our website for exciting introductions of Farmhouse 2020 styles and ideas. We've gone out of our way to choose items that will enhance any room in your home and are realistically priced.

Great Finds Often Come From Boutique Shops
When asked by customers where I shop for items when I decorate, my answer's always the same... I shop for distinctive, unique and stylish, sans trendy. Honestly, I prefer boutique stores whenever possible and work hard to avoid the big box names. Yes, the big box stores may offer larger selections to choose from but the drawback is usually the same - rows and rows of identical items that can be found in every one of their store locations. They typically buy in bulk so individuality and creativity just aren't a consideration. I love a home whose rooms are plush with character and charm. If you're strapped for time and need to decorate a home in a hurry then by all means shop the big box stores. However, if you prefer a home that's alive with your personality and style, then take the time to do it right.
Price is often a big factor when choosing where to shop. Big-box stores offer their most attractive discounts on big-ticket items, undercutting specialty stores and smaller retailers on price. So yes, you can often save hundreds of dollars on electronics, appliances, and other major purchases if you shop at a big-box retailer, but one of a kind items that distinguish your home from everyone else and make your friends and neighbors think of you as a style guru will hardly ever be found in one. Plus there's the issue of quality. Years ago quality assurance was a given. Manufacturers and vendors took pride in their work. Now with all the imports in the home decor industry that has drastically changed. This is where the boutique home decor retailer really shines. They develop relationships with their suppliers and can often handle service issues and custom requests that big box stores ignore.
Don't get me wrong, big-box stores definitely have their place in the American consumer landscape, but so do small retailers and local shops. The wise shopper considers the advantages of each and takes a hard look at where the real bargains and service really are. Small doesn't necessarily always mean less. For the smaller home decor and furniture stores, small most often equates with selective. Boutique shops and stores make a special effort to cultivate the truly distinctive brands, styles and quality that singles them out from the masses and helps generate customer loyalty and satisfaction. In other words, they work that much harder to make every facet of your shopping experience memorable and satisfying. As the saying goes - Good things do often come in small packages!
