Comfortable, Cozy, Inviting
CREATING THE MODERN FARMHOUSE STYLE...
The farmhouse chic design style has become one of the most popular of home decors in the last few years thanks in part to TV shows such as Fixer Upper, Nate and Jeremiah and others. But, what is it really? For those of us who remember the colonial style of decorating, farmhouse isn't that much of a detour.
Today's classic farmhouse style emphasizes feelings of warmth and comfort. It's traditional without being fussy, classic without being museum, and comfortable in a way that makes you want to put your feet up and stay awhile. Classic farmhouse is all about mixing comfortable furniture with salvaged materials like reclaimed wood and industrial metals. Antiques are right at home in classic farmhouse interiors, but none that are too delicate to touch. Everything is tactile and tangible. Most of all, classic farmhouse is clean and cozy without being cluttered. Classic farmhouse is also similar to country style, however, while country tends to lean toward rustic, farmhouse retains a certain level of sophistication.
So, explore our website for exciting introductions of Farmhouse 2020 styles and ideas. We've gone out of our way to choose items that will enhance any room in your home and are realistically priced.

5 Fun DIY Projects
Your walls can feel like their closing in around you when you're sitting home for weeks as we've all been doing lately. I've heard from several friends and clients throughout the COVID19 crisis and though they've expressed themselves in different ways, they've more often then not said pretty much the same thing - WOW, I just can't believe how much I need to update the look of my home and I'm stuck as to what to do. Can you offer any ideas Leslee?? So, I put together this list of five DIY design projects that could be
both fun for the family and perfect to tackle while quarantined. Hope it offers some inspiration.
DESIGN A WALL GALLERY
Your walls may not be the first thing you think of when it comes to re-designing your home, but a well thought out gallery on a wall can make a world of difference. I love gallery walls, and it's not hard to see why. They do so many things. They're an amazing way to infuse color and pattern into space. They let the art-lovers among us display our collections and sometimes our families in groups so we can get more pieces on the walls. They're an excellent way to take up empty space on a large wall, making the room feel fully inhabited. And more importantly, they can be a fun project for the whole family and one of the best opportunities we get to show who we are and what we love in our spaces.
A great gallery wall can be just pictures, whether art, framed prints or photos. It can also be much more than that. To make a great gallery wall, start with your favorite images like photographs, drawings, or art, and then start adding in the things you cherish like postcards from favorite vacations, your grandmother’s dishes, jewelry, pieces from your favorite game or signs. The possibilities are essentially endless. As for arranging a gallery, lay the pieces out on a floor. Think of it as a large puzzle and invite your family to offer suggestions and help you arrange the pieces into a meaningful collage. Of course, you still have to keep it stylish. But with a little practice and a keen editorial eye, creating an eclectic and chic gallery wall is no trouble at all.
SWITCH UP YOUR DECOR
When you're sick and tired of the current look and decor in your living room, bedroom, and other spaces throughout your home, a somewhat inexpensive alternative is to swap out current decorative pillows and throws for updated styles, or consider sewing your own if you have a sewing machine available. Making your own blankets, curtains, and pillows can help you to keep your mind off of the quarantine while allowing you to pass time and achieve an entirely new look in a room simultaneously. Another suggestion is to try a new furniture layout. Move the couch to a different wall, adjust where your armchair sits. or mix things up by swapping rugs from one room to another. Even switching a lamp to another spot can brighten up a space and give it a whole new perspective.
START A GARDEN
One of the most gratifying projects is to get involved in some gardening. A garden can be a source of beautiful flowers, nutritious vegetables, and a sense of being grounded. By nurturing your plants, you become involved in a project that gives as much as you put into it. You don’t need to have a big garden. This is where the DIY project comes in. You can build a planter from basic scrap materials. An old ladder can be perfect for stacking potted plants. Old containers can be used to create a cute array of flowers on a patio or porch. Add a fountain and bring calm and relaxation to your garden with the soothing sound of flowing water. Your imagination (and the imagination of DIYers of the internet) is your only limit.
RESTYLE YOUR BOOKSHELVES
Even avid readers don’t change up their bookshelves all that often, so now is the time to rethink them. If you’re focused on literature, one thought may be to arrange your books by alphabetical order or by theme, Purge clutter and simplify your color scheme. Bookcases can appear cluttered if there's to many colors competing for the same space. Depending on the overall size of the area you're working with, choose 3-4 colors that work well together and also work well with the color scheme in your room. For a more
contemporary look, cover books in neutral tone book covering or incorporate a set of designer books into your design. Then, add a few well chosen art pieces and decorative objects, such as vases, globes or vintage pieces to give your bookcase a stylish flair and there you have it. A stylish, well appointed bookcase that will elicit complements and complement your room.
GIVE OLD FURNITURE A FACE LIFT
Whether it’s an old bookshelf or kitchen chairs, show some love to your often-overlooked furniture. Not only will it give you a fun project to tackle at home, but it will also save you tons of money on new furniture purchases and let you customize pieces to fit your space. You can transform your cabinets, furniture & home décor with our smooth, velvety Caromal Colours Botanicals paint collection in colors inspired by the gardens of Europe. They are the perfect paints for the DIY “artist.” Here's just some of the amazing advantages of these products.
They require No Sanding, Stripping or Priming.
